- Mint Mobile – I used to switch mobile phone services every year in search of the best deal. I’ve used Mint Mobile for five years now and it’s still the lowest cost I’ve found: $15/mo for unlimited talk and text and 4GB of data if you sign up for a year at a time. Service is through T-Mobile which is good in metro DC but often unusable in smaller towns – you’re better off with Verizon if you do a lot of driving around.
